WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Island News) -- The Honolulu Little League team fell to Connecticut 5-1 in its first game of the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania Friday.
The West Region champions jumped into the lead early on in the game with a 1-0 lead heading into the fifth inning.
However -- the Metro Regional champions took a commanding 5-1 lead in the fifth inning, as Honolulu comitted a costly error and gave up a single that amounted to four runs in that inning.
Honolulu now plays in an elimination game on Sunday at 7 a.m. on KITV4 versus the winner of Friday's game between Illinois/Pennsylvania.
