The president has declared martial law in our nation’s capital. This, after he fired all statisticians that accurately report on jobs numbers and other market indicators, and after he decided his administration would curate exhibits at national museums, eliminating the history he doesn’t like.
He also named himself head of the Kennedy Center, hired himself to emcee the awards, bemoaned that he’d never been honored himself, declared that he’d be an honoree soon, and praised himself for knowing that he deserved such an honor.
We’ve crossed the bridge from “authoritarian” into “dictatorial.” I wish this was fiction instead of our current state of affairs. But according to the man himself, it doesn’t matter.
