For the fifth year in a row, the Nocturnal Fountain Show of Fire lit up the gardens of the Palace of Versailles on Friday night, drawing 16,000 spectators to an evening of music, flames and aerial choreography.
Visitors strolled along the Grande Perspective and through the groves, where fountains came alive to the works of Lully, Handel, Gluck and Rameau, highlighted by dramatic lighting.
Fire artists performed engulfed in monumental flames in the royal gardens, offering a striking contrast to the baroque music resonating across the historic site.
The night ended with a spectacular finale, combining drones and fireworks in a dazzling crescendo.
French visitor Emilie Hervé praised “the mix of fire and water," calling the show "simply sublime — a feast for the eyes.”
Another visitor Mathieu Dayres, praised the atmosphere created at the iconic venue and said the show offered a way to "rediscover the gardens of Versailles."
The Nocturnal Fountains run every Saturday evening from June 7 through September 20, with a special edition on August 15, the Feast of the Assumption.
Organizers have noted the event’s growing international appeal. In 2024, more than 200,000 visitors explored the royal gardens at night to admire this unique spectacle.
