Driven to serve: Parochial vicar retiring to Batavia

After 35 years as a priest, preceded by nine years working in the secular world, the Rev. Walter Szczesny is looking forward to retirement.

“It’s been a great career,” Szczesny said, recounting a long priesthood that took him all over the region from Batavia to East Aurora to West Falls to Clarence and everywhere in between.
