CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police issued a warning about burglars targeting older adults across four neighborhoods on the South and Southwest sides.

Police said the burglars have hit homes in the Brighton Park, Bridgeport, McKinley Park and Armour Square neighborhoods.

The suspects have used several different methods to enter the homes, including hitting a victim's garage door, distracting a victim while other burglars sneak inside, and waiting for a victim to leave, police said.

In one burglary, the suspects targeted a home while the victims were out of town.

The thieves have stolen items such as firearms, money and valuables.
