In 2017, New Edition earned their spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — and soon, they’ll have their own street on their home turf.

The city of Boston will honor the homegrown R&B group next Saturday with “New Edition Day,” which will include a street naming ceremony and community-wide party in Roxbury.

The special occasion marks the 42nd anniversary of New Edition, which formed in 1978 and would go on to become one of Boston’s biggest contributions to music history (not to mention the spinoffs the group yielded, including Bell Biv DeVoe and member Bobby Brown’s solo career).
