HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) - An OVI checkpoint is planned in Trumbull County Saturday night.

The checkpoint will take place on Elm Road in Howland from 9-11 p.m.

It's a collaboration between the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Howland Township Police Department.

There will also be nearby saturation patrols.

The goal is to deter and intercept impaired drivers, and combat crash injuries and deaths.

If you plan on drinking, make sure you find a safe way home.
