Friday was host to a much-anticipated summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Held in Anchorage, Alaska, the idea was to “set the table” for a tripartite summit with Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy and a possible end to the Russia-Ukraine War._

_But Russia has thus far demonstrated little to no conciliation towards a ceasefire, with Moscow saying it will only end the war in exchange for a swath of Eastern Ukraine far larger than anything currently under Russian occupation.
