The Chase fans were in tears as host Bradley Walsh paused the show to deliver a heartfelt message.

During Friday's episode of the popular ITV quiz show, contestants Ann, Bethan, Darren and Rhys teamed up to take on Darragh Ennis, known as The Menace.

But viewers were urging show bosses to instantly hand over cash to Ann as she shared details about her husband's struggle with dementia.

The 87-year-old approached Bradley before taking her turn and said: "Could I make a plug for my husband?"

The host beamed as he warmly responded: "Plug away, darling," reports the Express .

Ann continued: "His name is John, he is in a care home and they'll all be watching. Can you say hello to John and all the staff?"
