Britain has been enjoying scorching summer conditions this week, but fresh predictions suggest the mercury is about to plummet dramatically.
Weather charts from forecaster WXCHARTS, using Metdesk data, reveal a sharp temperature drop nationwide, with one region experiencing lows of just 3C.
The maps indicate the thermometer will hit rock bottom at 3C near Inverness in northern Scotland at 6am on August 21.
Large swathes of Scotland appear destined for temperatures of 5C and below during this period.
Meanwhile, England faces chilly 4C lows in the north around the North Pennines, whilst the remainder of the nation will experience temperatures ranging between 6C and peaks of 13C in East Anglia, reports the Express .
