Before the youngsters starting rolling in for a basketball clinic on Friday night, West Brighton resident Liam Murphy and South Beach’s Chris Ledlum were engrossed in getting up shots during a myriad of drills run by College of Staten Island men’s hoops coach TJ Tibbs.

Murphy, who is on the precipice of beginning his final year of basketball eligibility at Purdue University, and Ledlum, who will play professionally in Germany next season, are both in their early 20s.

Yet, they’re still eager to learn and get better.

Tibbs believed it was a no-brainer to bring on the two ex-St. Peter’s basketball stars to teach the finer points of the game to Staten Island’s youngsters at something called the “Liam Murphy X Chris Ledlum Hoops Clinic,” but said it goes well beyond hoops. 50
