Charlie Stayt issued an apology to BBC Breakfast viewers as his interview with Sir Tony Brenton ended abruptly.

The 63-year-old was hosting Saturday morning's show with Luxmy Gopal, who was standing in for Naga Munchetty.

But the pair faced technical difficulties as the Sir Tony, the former British Ambassador to Russia, appeared on the programme via video link.
