A former St. Cloud police officer was recently sentenced to three years in prison for illegally selling guns, some of which he was told would be trafficked overseas, court records show.

Michael Adrian Nieto, 31, a law enforcement officer in Florida since March 2023, admitted he’d bought at least 58 guns and resold some of them. Some of those guns went to Ernesto Vazquez, who resold firearms to another individual who then smuggled them out of the country, according to news releases from the U.S. Department of Justice.
