PHILADELPHIA − For three-plus weeks, the Eagles have held competitions for starting jobs at cornerback opposite Quinyon Mitchell, and at safety next to Reed Blankenship.

And for three-plus weeks, nobody has really separated himself at either position.

So while most of the starters are sitting out, those players competing for the starting job are not. Mukuba, a rookie, did not play in the preseason opener on Aug. 7 as he was just returning from a shoulder injury.
