Hulk Hogan the character was beloved by millions across the country and the world.

Terry Bollea, Hogan’s real name, however was a flawed individual, and one that was prone to telling a tall tale, especially after he left life as a full-time performer in the squared circle.

And following his death, one of the 71-year-old’s apparent tall tales has come back into the spotlight.

That tale?

Well, as Parade highlighted , Hogan claims that he tried to join the legendary rock band, Metallica, and was prepared to leave life as a wrestling icon behind to do so.

“When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either,” he told the Chicago Tribune in 2009.

“I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for Metallica.”
