Erin strengthened into a “catastrophic” Category 5 hurricane in the Caribbean on Saturday and continues to intensify, forecasters said.
The storm was about 105 miles north of Anguilla with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph and moving west at 17 mph, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
