LIVINGSTON, Texas — An East Texas man with a past conviction of pretending to be an officer was arrested again for allegedly impersonating an officer twice.

William Caruthers, 38, of Livingston, is in the Montgomery County Jail on two counts of impersonating a public servant.

According to the Livingston Police Department, their officers first saw Caruthers chasing a motorcycle with his emergency lights flashing in late July. Following an investigation, detectives issued a warrant for Caruthers’ arrest.

Caruthers was found several days later in Montgomery County allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer at a crash that he was involved in. He was taken in for the Livingston police warrant and charged for the Montgomery County incident, police said.
