NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - An investigation is underway after a crash in New Haven on early Saturday morning.

At around 12:03 a.m. officers were called to the area of Chapel and Temple Street after a report of a pedestrian who was hit by a car.

Officials said a 56-year-old woman died due to the extent of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene.

Police said no arrests have been made at this time.

No further details were released.
