Fire crews in St Ann's

Fire crews are tackling a blaze at a derelict building in St Ann's . Firefighters were called to the Pease Hill Centre in Furze Gardens at 3.55pm.

The derelict building, in Furze Gardens, has become a magnet for anti-social behaviour since it was shut in 2013.

The building was last torched by arsonists on July 5 , just over a month ago, and residents called for urgent action to demolish it to prevent it from happening again.

In a short statement issued today, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We currently have three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform tackling a fire at a derelict building on Furze Gardens in St Ann's.

"Please avoid the area whilst emergency services deal with this incident."
