JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - A collision Friday night in Jefferson County, Illinois, left one person dead.

According to the Ill. State Police, the crash happened around 9 p.m. on August 15 at the Goshen Road Rest Area on Interstate 64.

Troopers said a semi-truck was parked in the I-64 eastbound rest area parking lot when an SUV entered the rest area entrance ramp, drove off the roadway, into the parking lot and struck the semi.

ISP said the driver of the SUV died at the scene.

The I-64 eastbound rest area entrance ramp was closed for some time overnight, but has since reopened.
