Surrey resident Muskaan Waraich was shocked to learn that she had been selected for the Eureka Fellowship , which will help her develop a personalized menstruation phone app.
Waraich is one of two women from Surrey who have been selected for the 2025 Eureka Fellowship for Youth Changemakers.
The other local winner is Samantha Jack, who receives funding for her work on a safe space for Indigenous queer youth.
Ten people from across Canada, aged 18 to 30, were selected from a hundred applicants for the fellowship, which is in partnership with AstraZeneca Canada and Plan International Canada. The 2025 fellows have been selected for their positive impact in several key areas, including health equity, biodiversity conservation, and climate action.
