OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After several delays, demolition of Omaha’s Civic Auditorium began on this day in 2016.
The venue opened its doors in the mid 1950’s, and was a very popular spot for concerts and graduations.
The eight acre site, now known as Civic Square , is a multi-use development that will feature retail, affordable housing, and a grocery story once it’s complete.
Last month , developers told the Omaha City Council that they would finish the $2.7 million worth of infrastructure by early next summer.
