The Hawk fire in Acton is 67% contained as of Saturday morning.

On Friday, the brush fire began the day at 6% containment, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire was 42% contained, according to Friday’s first update.

The fire was reported shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday in the 35900 block of North Trenmar Drive, south of Ritter Ranch Park.

The fire’s progress was stopped Thursday night after it scorched 400 acres of vegetation.

Some structures were threatened as the flames spread through medium brush. The department issued a third alarm, summoning additional air and ground resources to the scene.

One neighborhood was placed under an evacuation order, and others were given evacuation warnings.
