Regional gas prices declined for the second consecutive week and reached an average of $2.68 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, down from last week's price of $2.73 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average fuel price in the Gulf Coast region declined about 6 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices across the region in the last year have been as low as $2.56 on Dec. 16, 2024, and as high as $3.00 on Aug. 12, 2024.

A year ago, the average gas price in the Gulf Coast region was 11% higher at $3.00 per gallon.
