STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two Staten Islanders will be honored Sunday at the New York City Football Club match at Yankee Stadium.
Oumar Barrie, a student at PS 13, Rosebank, and Police Officer Ronald Woody of the 120th Precinct in St. George, were nominated by community supporters for their hard work and dedication.
Oumar has played in the NYCFC Soccer Community Cup with his Rosebank team. He is also a participant in the Saturday Night Lights (SNL) program at PS 57, Clifton, a citywide initiative providing free year-round sports on Saturday nights. He has been selected as Community Kid of the Game.
Woody, honored as the Hero of the Match, is a cornerstone of his community and a support system for many residents, his supporters said. He has been a champion and advocate for the Saturday Night
