MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- We are less than a year away from the Shelby County primary election, and seats for Shelby County Mayor and Sheriff are among the several county positions up for grabs next year.
Several organizations are already doing their part to make sure voters are ready to hit the polls.
Come May 5, 2026, registered voters across Shelby County will head to the polls to vote on numerous county positions, such as County Mayor and Sheriff. Early voting starts April 15, 2026.
Until then, organizations are coming together to make sure voters are informed about their options.
"What we want the public to leave with is a better understanding of how government works, how our government officials operate," said Ian Randolph with the Shelby County Voter Alliance.
