A teenage boy was seriously hurt in a shooting in Taunton, Massachusetts, early Saturday morning, police said.

The shooting was reported about 5:45 a.m. on Church Street, according to Taunton police. Soon afterward, a wounded 16-year-old boy arrived at Morton Hospital.

He was taken to a trauma center with a serious injury, but was expected to survive, according to police.

No arrests were announced as of Saturday afternoon, but police were investigating the shooting.
