COVINGTON, Ky. —
Trial dates have been set for the two CityBeat journalists who are facing misdemeanor charges after being arrested during last month's protest on the Roebling Bridge.
Madeline Fening, the organization's investigative news reporter, as well as Lucas Griffith, an intern at the paper, are being charged with a combined total of 11 different counts. Advertisement
Their arrests stem from a protest held last month in support of Ayman Soliman, a Cincinnati Children's Hospital chaplain who was arrested by ICE and currently faces the prospect of deportation back to his native country of Egypt. Both Fening and Griffith were on the bridge covering the protest for CityBeat on the evening of July 17 when they were arrested.
