Man Injured in Highway Shooting, Suspects at Large

A 23-year-old man is recovering after being shot in what authorities believe was a road rage incident on I-4 in Volusia County on Friday evening. The victim, who has not been identified, was driving eastbound near mile marker 109 when the shooting occurred.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the victim told troopers that a black SUV abruptly cut him off. After moving to the center lane, he was driving parallel to the suspect’s vehicle when he heard a single gunshot. He then realized he’d been shot in the left arm.

The victim managed to exit the highway at Saxon Boulevard and immediately contacted law enforcement. He was transported to Sanford HCA Hospital with injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening.
