MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach police are continuing to reach out to the potentially 800 victims tied to a massive stolen check scheme.

Investigators have reached out to 100 victims so far.

“I am not sticking any more mail in my mailbox for the mail person to take,” said Becky Warren, who lives in Myrtle Beach.

Becky Warren and her husband were two of more than 800 businesses and people whose checks were stolen.

She shared that they have had to make a lot of changes after learning they were victims.

“It was such a pain having a checking account for all these years,” said Warren. “I am 70, and my husband is 74, and having to change all that and direct deposits and drafts was awful, not to mention I feel violated.“
