COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A solicitor from the Lowcountry is now entering the race to become South Carolina’s next attorney general.
First Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe announced his campaign on Friday alongside events across the state next week.
Pascoe will formally launch his campaign Monday morning at Daniel Island, followed by a stop in Goose Creek later that day. Both stops are Republican Party events.
On Tuesday, Pascoe will hold a press conference in Columbia and meet with the Greenville County Republican Party.
Pascoe has been the First Circuit solicitor since being elected in 2004 and made headlines earlier this year when he switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. He also notably prosecuted the Mikal Mahdi death penalty case .
He now joins South Carolina
