Dozens of Iowa school districts will be starting classes soon without a full roster of full-time teachers and staff. On Friday morning, the state’s “Teach Iowa” website shows public and private K-12 schools have nearly 3,800 openings for all sorts of positions — coaches, cooks and teachers. In north Iowa, 1 position remained open at West Hancock, two at Garner Hayfield Ventura, eight positions in the Belmond Klemme School District, four in the Clear Lake District, three positions at Central Springs School District, an elementary classroom teacher at Newman Catholic, and 27 positions at the Mason City Community School District. Eagle Grove Schools had five positions open and Clarion Goldfield Dows had two.
