Eli Kell-Abrams is leaving the Rip City Remix to become the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ NBA G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

In June, Kell-Abrams had been named the lead assistant coach for the Remix — the Portland Trail Blazers’ G League affiliate — under newly hired head coach Jonah Herscu. Kell-Abrams spent the previous two seasons as the Blazers head video coordinator on head coach Chauncey Billups’ staff.

Now, Kell-Abrams is departing the Remix for a higher position with the Charge. He’ll be replacing previous Charge head coach Chris Darnell, who the Sacramento Kings hired as an assistant coach in May.
