TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. —

A five-year-old boy is recovering after he fell 20 feet into a well in the front yard of his Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, home on Friday.

Jack Bissias was playing in his front yard when he stepped on a well cover that gave way.

Luckily, his neighbor, 11-year-old Juliana Fischer, heard his screams. She called 911 and then grabbed a ladder to help pull him out.

“I was just talking to Jack, the little kid who fell down. He was just crying and holding onto the pipe,” Fischer said. “While she was talking to 911, I saw the ladder over there. My dad went and got a rope. By the time we got a ladder down there, he started to climb up.”

EMTs arrived at the scene to provide aid, but Jack was safe. He was taken to Lowell General Hospital to make sure he didn’t have any serio
