Get ready to feel the heat building here in Southern Indiana. We our closely tracking an intense heat dome that's settling over the entire region, and it looks like we're in for a significant stretch of very hot and humid conditions through at least early next week.

We're talking highs routinely climbing into the mid to upper 90s, with actual heat index values – what it feels like to you – potentially soaring to or even exceeding 100 degrees, possibly reaching as high as 105 degrees. This isn't your everyday summer warmth; this is abnormal heat that warrants caution.

Because of these prolonged dangerous conditions, a Heat Advisory has been issued for our entire area, running from this afternoon through Tuesday afternoon. We'll be monitoring these levels closely, advising everyone to take
