Forecasters are tracking a new disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean as Hurricane Erin, a Category 5 storm, undergoes an eyewall replacement cycle, according to a Saturday night update from the National Hurricane Center.

An area of low pressure of the coast of Africa has a small chance (20%) of forming into a tropical depression or named storm over the next seven days, the NHC said, but development could occur as it moves over the central Atlantic next week.

Meanwhile, Erin may weaken a bit as it undergoes an eyewall replacement cycle this weekend, but not by much.
