The Crew return to regular-season action against Toronto FC on Aug. 16, more than three weeks after their most recent league matchup, a 3-1 loss to Orlando City.
Despite only nine games remaining before the start of the MLS Cup playoffs , Toronto is one of two Eastern Conference teams the Crew have yet to face this year.
"Yes, we played them in preseason, but it doesn’t count," Crew coach Wilfried Nancy said. "They’ve been good recently. The last game that they had, they did well. ... So, we know that it’s going to be a tough game."
Toronto is coming off a 1-1 draw against the Philadelphia Union , who hold the best record in MLS, on Aug. 9.
