SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. — A festival celebrating the Lithuanian-American experience in Schuylkill County.
It's the 112th annual celebration at Lakewood Park in Barnesville.
The county is named "Little Lithuania", as at least 20 percent of its population claims Lithuanian heritage.
So, what was on hand? Ethnic food, goods and living history exhibits dating back to the 17th century.
Margaret Valinsky says, "It's similar to this, if you go to Lithuania, that's what you would see. It's all the vendors and selling food and enjoying themselves and talking. And this is what these people are doing, enjoying their day."
With over a century's worth of celebration, the Lithuanian-American experience is marked by the longest-running consecutive ethnic event in the United States.
