LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Several homes and a vehicle were damaged in a fire near Buechel Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Fern Creek Fire & EMS and Okolona Fire responded to a garage fire in the 7100 block of Black Mountain Drive, which is not far from Fegenbush Lane.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found a detached garage that was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire spread to the house and several other nearby structures.

Due to the extreme heat and additional fires, extra firefighters were called to the scene.

In total, it took approximately 40 firefighters about 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

Six structures and one vehicle were damaged in the fire.
