PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Port Richmond store is helping reunite artists with their lost work.
Thunderbird Hall in Frankford Avenue invited former students and staff of University of the Arts to its store where it gained access to work left at the shuttered school.
"Whether it's theirs or not, they're just happy they have access to it," said George Mathes, owner of the store. "So it's art, stationary supplies, tools, equipment, props."
Mathes said he made a connection with people working on the campus and started transporting art to his Port Richmond store.
"Because there's value in all of this stuff and there's history and it's important and we care about it," she said.
The school closed suddenly in June 2024 locking up artwork along with its doors.
