PIERCE, Neb. (KTIV) - An autopsy has been ordered after a man was found dead at a Nebraska ethanol plant.

On Saturday, Aug. 16, Pierce County 911 received a call, stating a person had passed out in a fermenting tank located at the Husker Ag Ethanol Production Facility, located east of Plainview, Nebraska.

Plainview Fire and Rescue and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

According to the Pierce County Attorney, upon arrival, attempts to resuscitate the victim, now identified as Randall McElroy, 31, of Cushing, Oklahoma, were unsuccessful. McElroy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The county attorney says an autopsy has been ordered and the incident remains under investigation at the time.
