DIMMITT, Texas (KFDA) - The Dimmitt Bobcats are ready to hit the football field under first-year head coach Jimmy Arias.
After spending the last two seasons at Muleshoe as the defensive coordinator, Arias is back calling the shots for another Texas Panhandle team, which is part of the reason why the Bobcats job was appealing.
“First and foremost, it’s a Panhandle town and it’s a small community,” Arias says. “Second was the administration. We got some of the best admin in the area. They understand what it takes to be supportive of the program and not just in athletics, but also in the classroom.”
Arias is no stranger to District 1-3A, spending eight seasons as the head coach at Friona before his time at Muleshoe, and leaving as the winningest coach in program history.
