Marissa Muñoz and Alex Ferro were visiting downtown Chicago on Saturday from Kenosha, Wisconsin, when they stopped at an anti-Trump rally in Millennium Park.
The 24-year-olds say they’re troubled by the efforts of the GOP in Texas to flip five Democratic congressional seats in favor of Republicans to bolster their narrow majority in the House and help promote President Donald Trump’s agenda.
“I think it’s ridiculous,” Muñoz said.
Ferro, her boyfriend, agreed.
“It’s a very scary time to live in right now.”
They were among a couple of hundred people attending the Fight the Trump Takeover rally. It was one of many nationwide protests against redistricting efforts in Texas.
