FULTON — Callaway County Special Services joined the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals in January. Just months later, employees are already seeing the impact.

Patrice Lawson and Melanie Stotler are both direct support professionals at CCSS, working with clients who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.

"We are in charge of making sure that our individuals that we serve here, their goals and needs and wants are being met," Lawson said. "We do activities, we pretty much have fun."

Through joining NADSP, Lawson and Stotler can gain access to resources so they can enjoy the work they do even more. In addition to a value-based payment program, NADSP provides education and advocacy for them as employees, said Emery Jones, the director of day services at CCSS.
