KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee golfer Jackson Herrington has advanced to the U.S. Amateur Finals after a stellar performance in the semifinals Saturday, knocking off Niall Shiels Donegan.
Herrington birdies the final hole at The Olympic Club to earn a spot in the championship match on Sunday.
Along with advancing to the finals, Herrington earns a spot to play in the 2026 Masters and US Open.
Only two other Tennessee golfers have advanced to the finals. Oliver Goss was the last to do so in 2013 and Eric Rebmann advanced almost 40 years ago in 1987.
Herrington will face Georgia native and UGA signee Mason Howell in a 36-hole match play final on Sunday.
The U.S. Amateur finals start Sunday at 7 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
