ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was fatally struck overnight in north St. Louis County.
The collision happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of New Halls Ferry Drive and Sugar Pine Drive.
Investigators say the pedestrian, a woman, was struck by a vehicle and rushed to a hospital for treatment, though she later died from her injuries.
Based on preliminary findings, according to the St. Louis County Police Department, the pedestrian was in the roadway when she was struck. Police say the driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with the investigation.
Police did not disclose the victim's identity or age, nor any other information on circumstances around the crash.
