Shane Steichen ‘very close' to selecting starting quarterback

One of the major storylines in Colts training camp this summer was the quarterback battle. Both Anthony Richardson Sr. and Daniel Jones have been going at it to see who can emerge as a frontrunner for the job.

While some indications may suggest neither passer has separated himself from the other , head coach Shane Steichen is getting close to choosing his starter.

“I’m very close,” Steichen said about coming to a final decision. “I’d like to have a decision shortly.”

Ideally, an official announcement would come in the coming days to allow whoever is chosen enough time to use Indy’s final preseason game against the Bengals as a tune-up opportunity, treating the week of preparation like he’s prepa
