WEST ALLIS, Wis (CBS 58) - It’s been almost a week since major flash flooding hit parts of southeastern Wisconsin and left hundreds of homes with damage.
West Allis saw major flooding and had dozens of homes filled with water, destroying some basements and first floors.
“It’s so beyond horrifically sad, literally just watching these people’s lives get thrown away and helping them do it,” said West Allis District Four Alderwoman Patty Novak.
On Saturday, Aug. 16, West Allis officials held a cookout for the community to give people still recovering a break from the cleanup process and the resources they still need.
