The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:28 p.m. on Saturday for heavy rain and showers with small hail until 6 p.m. for Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon and Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon.

"At 5:26 p.m., Doppler radar tracked heavy showers near Heppner, moving northeast at 15 mph," explains the weather service. "Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."

The alert is for Heppner.

According to the weather service, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible
