The emotion was flowing on Saturday night as Bowman Gray Stadium officials and the families that were close to the late Robbie Brewer honored him in pre-race activities.
Before the racing commenced Brewer's family and several others who were close to Robbie led about 50 people around the track as they pushed Robbie's car.
Track announcer Randy Pulliam led the 12,000 or so fans in a moment of silence while the car was pushed for a lap.
Toward the end of the lap most of the fans were standing and applauding as Brewer's car left the track one last time.
Brewer, 53, died last week in a Sportsman Division race after he suffered a medical emergency on lap 16. He went full throttle into the wall going into turn four, and while emergency services was there at his car just past the start-fini
